Why your holistic brand deserves to be seen (even if you don’t feel ready)
For many holistic business owners, visibility can feel vulnerable, uncomfortable or even egotistical (God forbid you celebrate yourself). Whether it’s showing up on social media, investing in professional brand photography, or putting yourself on your website, it’s easy to feel like you need more confidence before you can take the leap. You know you it would help to put your image out there but it feels uncomfortable or not in alignment.
You tell yourself not until you feel more confident. Not until your offers are clearer. Not until you lose weight, grow your audience, refine your brand, or magically just feel “ready.”
So you wait.
And while you’re waiting, your work stays hidden.
Visibility isn’t about being ready
The thing is. You don’t become visible because you feel ready. You feel ready because you jump in, you allow yourself to be seen. Confidence isn’t a prerequisite. It’s a by product of experience.
Every time you show up, no matter how imperfectly that might be, you are telling yourself that it’s safe to be seen. That people are listening, your work matters (it does).
Your work is already worthy
The people I work with are thoughtful, passionate and deeply invested in what they do.
They’re coaches, healers, creatives, space-holders. They change lives in beautiful ways. And yet, so often I find that they hesitate to share themselves fully. Not because their work isn’t good, but because even they don’t feel like they’re ready to put themselves out there.
If that resonates, let me remind you:
Your worth isn’t something you earn through visibility. It’s more that visibility is how you allow others to experience you, to build a relationship or form a connection. To communicate your story, share your warmth.
Hiding has a cost
When you stay behind the scenes, it’s not just about missed likes or followers.
It’s the right clients not finding you. The connections that never happen. Over time, that disconnect grows between the business you feel inside, and the one the world actually sees.
Being seen can feel vulnerable (and that’s okay)
Honestly, visibility is exposing. Being in front of the camera, sharing your story and letting people see the real you, not just your work. That’s a lot to work through, but it doesn’t mean you’re not ready, it means you’re just normal. It’s rare I meet a client that isn’t a little anxious before their brand photoshoot.
As a photographer I can’t get rid of those feelings, but I can be there to understand and support you through it. To create a space where you can relax, talk about any insecurities and help find solutions that help you relax into it.
A different way to approach visibility
Being visible in your brand doesn’t need to feel like a performance. It can be a fun, relaxed experience that matches your brand’s energy. When your photos, website, marketing all feels like a true reflection of you it gets easier to show up.
You don’t have to do it alone
Trying to piece everything together yourself can make visibility feel heavier than it needs to be. Figuring out how to look, what to say, how it all fits - that’s a lot! But when you show up in your brand and it’s created around you, it just feels right, clearer and simpler. Natural and in flow with everything.
You’re allowed to be seen now
Not later or when everything is perfect. Not when you’ve finally become the version of yourself you think you need to be. But now, exactly as your are. In the growth, the change even in the mess of it all!
The way I see it is that the people who are meant to find you aren’t looking for perfection, perfection is unachievable. What they’re looking for is you.
If this feels like you maybe this is the moment you’ve been waiting for, so consider this your permission to step forward. Softly. Gently or maybe in a spur of the moment. But always in your own way.
But be visible. Your business deserves to be seen, because you’ve put so much into it. You are your brand’s soul and your people want to see you.
